Whenever I see an Octogenarian (someone over 80) my heart melts.
My Dad was one. He was born in the 1930’s. When they pass away so do their funny sayings like “He was mad as a meat axe” or “I don’t give a monkey’s hoot.” (While we get left behind with YOLO and Bae) But most importantly, so will their insights, knowledge and experiences. These people lived in an era unimaginable to us. Only the lucky ones got toys. Most of them had only their imaginations. And the family was rationed tiny amounts of butter per week. With World Wars and the Great Depression, life was uncertain. But my Dad was the happiest and most content person I have ever known in my life. And he sprinkled that sparkle everywhere he went. From the supermarket to the DVD store, he was unashamedly his happy self. From helping mums wrangle children to teasing little elderly ladies. Living alone, mostly Dad kept to himself, but while out doing his thing he lit up faces and made people's days. He might not have known it, but he made an IMPACT. Even in his dying days he wore pink slippers and proclaimed his own religion just to keep up the good work. (That’s consistency!) What kind of impact can you make with what you currently have and where you currently are? Do you impact the world with fun, happiness, and great service? Luckily my Dad left me with some sparkle I'd love to share with you Book your free 45 minute strategy session with me now go.janicemckay.co.nz/scheduling With Heart, Janice
